Melophile Mario has always looked for excellence in his audio equipment. But when he was looking for new high-performance headphones, he encountered himself with the frustration of having to choose between closed-back or open-back headphones. That meant, among other things, the need to have one pair of headphones for home and another for traveling. He mentioned it to his lifelong friend and fellow music-lover, Pascual. After checking that there were no high-performance headphones on the market that offered the possibility of switching between the open-back and closed-back, they decided to do something about it.
This is how the project to create the world’s first convertible high-end headphones, the Palma DHS-1, was born. Little did they imagine the complexity that this challenge entailed, nor that it would take more than three years to bring their vision to life.

Crafting the invisible.
We take pride in challenging convention, like creating the first convertible closed-back/open-back headphone. 48 ports in each in the enclosure that can be opened and closed with a simple 14º twist of an outer shutter with the patented mechanism developed by the brand. Thanks to meticulous tuning by our head engineer, we managed to maintain the sound basically the same in both modes. This means our headphones offer a rather unique opportunity to experience the isolated difference between closed- and open-back headphones. We don’t want you to hear our headphones, they should be “invisible”, you should only hear the music in its purest state.
The DHS-1 was never really designed; it was engineered and built from the inside out. We believe there is a timeless beauty in purposeful design. These headphones, engineered and hand assembled in Barcelona, are built to outlast passing trends and remain relevant for years to come, years of pure musical enjoyment.
