Until now there have been two types of headphones—closed and open. We were struck by the fact that there were none that allowed us to change from one state to another according to the user’s situation and preferences. So, we decided to design ones.
A unique, impeccable, and transparent sound, but with two different acoustic experiences by simply rotating the outer shutter discs to open and close the acoustic chamber of each headphone.

So we decided to design a convertible headphone that allows the user to switch from a closed to an open mode with a simple 14º turn of the shutter discs. A headphone that offers two acoustic experiences without altering the audiophile-grade sound that is unique, flawless and transparent between the two modes.
In closed mode we can isolate ourselves from the outside world and enjoy music with acoustics similar to that of a recording studio or a small venue. And also, we won’t disturb those around us if we are on a train, a plane, an office or other public space.
The open mode provides a feeling of open space, as if we were in a large concert hall or outdoors. What’s more, by reducing reverberation, we gain definition.

The DHS‑1 come with three sets of cables, one 1.2 meters long with a 3.5 mm plug for portable players, another 2.8 meters long with a 6.3 mm plug for stationary equipment and a balanced cable of 1.2 meters with a 4.4 mm plug for both stationary as well as portable devices. All three cables connect to the headphone with one 2.5 mm plug for each channel.
