Jaco Abel

Musician, guitarist and composer.

Sensitive, chameleonic, communicative, son of flamenco artists… This guitarist broke the mold by introducing the electric guitar into the flamenco world, and flamenco duende into the jazz universe.

Since his first album, “Gitano Cromático” in 2003, Jaco Abel has traveled around the world playing with artists such as Estrella and Enrique Morente, Barbería del Sur, José “el Francés”, Niña Pastori, Joaquín Cortes, Ketama, Jimmy Smith, M’Shelle N’Dege O’Cello, Candy Dulfer, Tower of Power, Luis Salinas, Larry Harlow, Jovino, among many others. And between tours and collaborations he has released the albums “Flamenco Eléctrico” (2006) and “Homenaje a los Maestros del Flamenco” (2011).

Jaco Abel’s musical career has been valued over time until today he has a unique space in the international scene, inaugurating in 2009 together with Lenny Kravitz the “Caja Mágica” in Madrid, having the honor of participating in 2010 as a soloist in the CD and documentary of the 50th anniversary of “Sketches of Spain” by Miles Davis recorded in New York, also his CD “Ayaya” 2011 was a finalist for one of the most prestigious Flamenco awards granted by the National Flamenco Critics of Spain, in addition to his participation invited by the Maharaja of Jodhpur India to the first “Flamenco Roots” festival 2014 in collaboration with the Gypsies originating from the Rajasthan desert or his International tribute to Camarón de la Isla in 2016 in Germany with images by the painter Lita Cabellut.

His work is captured in his 3 solo albums “Gitano Cromático” 2003, “Flamenco Electrico” 2006, “Ayaya Homenaje a los maestro del Flamenco” 2011, the latter being a finalist for the National Flamenco Critics Award of Spain, as the best Flamenco album 2011. These days he is working on his new album and a documentary about his musical life, both planned for this year. We asked him to lend us his musical ear to test and evaluate the DHS-1. Now we owe a lot to Jaco, his opinions and suggestions have been fundamental for the development of our headphones. We invite you to discover one of the great musicians of our country, it is very worthwhile.
